 Thomas HOLLINGSWORTH & William LAMBERTH, both farm labourers of Cheshunt, were tried at the Herts. Q.S. 14.10.1833. for ''Stealing Fowls'' and were transported to Van Dieman's Land for 7 years.  Thomas arrived at Hobart, at the age of 20 years, 11.8.1834. onboard the ''John Barry''

Jane MILES was born about 1814 in Merthyr Tydfill, Glamorganshire, Wales.  Her father was William MILES a Collier, her mother was Jane maiden name unknown. Jane was convicted at Glamorganshire Assize. 25.2.1841 for ''Stealing from the Person'' she arrived at Hobart 10.10.1841 onboard the ''Garland Grove''.

Thomas, Jane and their family, departed from Launceston. 16.10.1851 onboard the ''Shamrock'' to Port Phillip, then travelled to Bendigo Goldfields and settled at White Hills. Thomas rented and worked a farm of 20 acres at Sandy Creek, at one time he was also a cab provider.  His death was most unfortunate, he died in March 1876 from injuries received after falling down an abandoned mine shaft at White Hills.  He was 59 years of age. Jane died on the 19.3.1882. aged 68 years. They are both buried at White Hills.
